Existing interior shutters are not automatically compatible with a retrofit motor. A review needs to identify the louver linkage, tilt mechanism, panel count, frame depth and clearance before anyone can describe a configuration as compatible.

What the mechanism must do
A shutter automation device must create rotation at the louver linkage or tilt control. It does not simply make a shutter ‘smart’ through an app. A controller may send commands, but the motor or actuator supplies the physical movement.

Visible tilt rod versus hidden tilt
A visible tilt rod is the vertical bar attached to the louvers. Moving it changes the angle of the connected louvers. A hidden tilt system places the linkage behind the louver edge, so the retrofit approach may need a different mounting point or may require more inspection.
